DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Waterbury Clock Co., Waterbury, Conn., "John Bull / Squire" blinking eye or winker figural timepiece, 30 hour, time only, spring driven balance wheel movement in a painted cast iron case with papered dial, c1875; (2) F. Kroeber Clock Co., New York, "Cabinet No. 59" mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a walnut case, c1888.
CONDITION:
(1) Case has been entirely repainted in bold colors with great attention to detail. Paper dial is a old replacement from the E. & J. Swigart Company. Movement is signed by Waterbury. The bottom of the case has raised letters in the casting reading "T. Kennedy / Patent Applied For/ 1856 ". Hands are replacements. (2) Case may have had a coat of clear finish applied over the old finish. Four finials are missing, but they are of simple design so they should be easy to source. An uncommon model with nice decorative elements. Dimensions are for the Kroeber mantel clock (2) .
